How to Apply to MSW

The Graduate School uses an online application system which will allow the applicant to upload all components of their application. This process places the responsibility on the applicant for the collection and submission of all documents as in a single location. The non-refundable application fee is $75.


Fellowships are only offered at the PhD level at the UConn School of Social Work.

*Advanced Standing 

Applicants who choose this option will need their BSW degree conferred prior to the beginning of the advanced standing summer session which begins in mid-July. All advanced standing applicants will be considered for the regular MSW program if they are not accepted as an advanced standing student.

Reapplication Process

Applicants must complete a new application, upload all of the required documents and pay the application fee of $75. It is suggested that applicants update their personal statement and consider updating recommendations, since this could have impacted the outcome of the previous decision. In order to begin a new application, a new user name/account must be created in the application system and all required information completed/uploaded.
