Grace Felten, MSW graduated with her MSW from UCONN with two specialized areas of interest: International Social Work and Women and Children in Families. In addition, Grace earned an interdisciplinary graduate certificate in Human Rights.
Grace completed a year of fieldwork representing the IASSW at the United Nations focusing on issues affecting women and girls, migration, human trafficking, and social development. She did an additional year of fieldwork with Global Network of Women Peacebuilders implementing UN Security Council Resolutions on women, peace and security. Traveling to Kenya, she assisted with the localization of these policies and helped to build curriculum for their literacy and leadership program for girls.
Grace plans to continue her focus on women’s human rights, especially in developing countries. Using her fieldwork and experience with the Jane Goodall Institute, she is concentrating on early marriage, the unique situation faced by women refugees, FGC, and education/livelihoods for women and girls.
