Building Bridges Ambassador Application

  • Building Bridges is an initiative established in 2011 by the School of Social Work Student Services Office in collaboration with the Student Organization. Its aim is to link incoming students (peer partners) with ambassadors (returning students) to foster a supportive relationship in order to help ease their transition into the UConn School of Social Work program.

    Roles, Responsibilities and Expectations

    Ambassadors will be expected to:
    • Make a one year commitment
    • Presently be in and remain in good academic standing
    • Agree to attend ambassador trainings as required
    • Agree to attend various orientations and program events as required
    • Be willing to create a sustaining and supportive relationship with incoming students (on-going communication via telephone, email or person)

    Application Process

    • The two part application, described below, must be completed no later than Third Friday of April:
    • Applicants will be notified via email upon receipt of their completed application.
    • All applications will be reviewed by the Director of Student Services.
    • Candidates may be requested to interview with the Director of Student Services.
    • Final decisions will be made by mid-April; applicants will be notified of the decision via email.
