Congressman Towns earned a Master of Social Work degree from Adelphi University. Congressman Towns has served 15 terms in the United States House of Representatives representing the 10th Congressional District of New York. Congressman Towns formed the Congressional Social Work Caucus in 2010 which consists of 68 members, and he is the current chair. In the 111th Congress Congressman Towns has served as Chairman of the powerful Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, leading investigations on abuse, waste and fraud in government. He is the Ranking Member of the Subcommittee on Government Organization, Efficiency and Financial Management. Congressman Towns also serves on three subcommittees: Technology and the Internet; Commerce, Manufacturing and Trade; and Health.
