For some of you, this is the beginning of a new endeavor and for others, this is a continuation of work you have already begun in the human service field. For all of you, we hope your interest reflects your desire to promote social and economic justice and to contribute to the overall improvement of human well-being.
Students in the UConn School of Social Work MSW program are educated in micro and macro practice concentrations which focus on the workings of individuals, families, groups, communities, organizations, and policies. With diversity in students, staff and faculty, the School is recognized as having strong programs dedicated to empowering students to recognize and challenge their stereotypes and prejudices while exploring the experiences of diverse, often intersecting social identities.
In addition to gaining knowledge and skills in practice interventions, the School offers unique opportunities to be involved in both political and international social work, or to pursue dual degrees in law, public health, divinity or public administration. We invite you to join us in fulfilling our mission and commitment. We are an active community of students, faculty, and staff who are all dedicated to pursuing and upholding social justice. We appreciate your interest and invite you to visit our website to learn more about us. We look forward to welcoming you to the School community and to the social work profession.
