For some of you, this is the beginning of a new endeavor and for others, this is a continuation of work you have already begun in the human service field. For all of you, we hope this endeavor  reflects your values and ethics of wanting to promote social and economic justice and to contribute to the improvement of human well-being.

Students in the UConn School of Social Work MSW program are educated in micro and macro practice concentrations which focus on the strengths of individuals, families, groups, communities and organizations. Building on this foundation, the School’s concentrations include specializations in Casework, Group Work, Community Organization, Policy Practice and Administration. With diversity in student, staff and faculty, the School is recognized as having strong programs dedicated to empowering students to recognize and challenge their stereotypes and prejudices while exploring the experiences of diverse social identities.

In addition to gaining knowledge and skills in practice interventions, the School offers unique opportunities to be involved in political social work, international social work, and dual degrees in law, public health, divinity and public administration. We invite you to join us in this mission and commitment. We look forward to welcoming you to the School community and the social work profession.
