Premier Partner in State Social Services Development, Training and Delivery
For over thirty years, the Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS) has relied on UConn School of Social Work to provide expert staff training and organization development advice. In collaboration with the Department of Social Services’ Office of Organizational and Skill Development (OSD), UConn SSW develops and delivers timely education, based on current best practice standards. Tailored to support DSS’s nearly 2,000 employees, UConn SSW develops and provides DSS staff and partners with a wide range of educational offerings from case management, cultural competency and social justice, to professional growth and program leadership. Training includes specific knowledge skill mastery required to competently deliver the full spectrum of social services to state residents.
Expert Counsel to Connecticut Department of Social Services (DSS)
Through its affiliation with the Connecticut Department of Social Services, the University of Connecticut School of Social Work provides guidance to foster organizational development initiatives to enable Connecticut DSS to fulfill its mission to provide a continuum of core services to meet the basic needs of food, shelter, economic support and health care; to promote and support the choice to live with dignity in one’s own home and community; and in achieving economic viability in the workforce.
