Procedures

ORS Procedure: Requesting a Literature or Instrument Search

The Office of Research and Scholarship (ORS) can help to facilitate faculty research and scholarship efforts by assisting with literature searches and data retrieval. Search and retrieval may be focused on specific content areas, research methodologies, or data collection tools. To initiate this service, the Literature or Instrument Search Request Form must be completed.

To complete the form, you will need to first save it to your hard drive. The form may then be completed electronically or printed and completed in hard copy. Please respond to all items on the form as this will allow for a more thorough search.

Completed forms can be returned to the ORS office, Room 210, or emailed to ORS.

ORS will respond to all requests for literature or instrument searches in a timely manner. Requests will be processed in the order in which they are received.

• Usually within one week of your request ORS will forward a RefShare file containing a complete listing of the references identified in response to your request.
• If your request includes a Report and Summary of Abstracts, it will be emailed separately at a later date (typically within 1 – 2 weeks, depending on the number of references identified and the volume of requests pending).
