A waiver examination for Research Methods for Social Work Practice (BASC 5333) is available to matriculated and non-matriculated students who believe their research knowledge base qualifies them for an exemption. This option is not available to advanced standing students. The examination is administered through the Office of Student and Academic Services and is offered throughout the year in the summer and winter. The exam should take approximately 2 to 2 1/2 hours. Students may only sit for this exam once and are required to register. A score of 70% is passing. If a student passes the exam, the student is exempted from the class not the credits.
Students are strongly urged to consult any of a number of commonly used texts in social work research in preparation for the exam which are available at the Harleigh B. Trecker Library.
