The policy committee develops and recommends a plan of action based on data and findings from surveys and from the Department of Public Health status disparities performance measures. The committee works closely with the legislative body to promote policies and regulations that ensure health equity for vulnerable populations. In the coming years a major task of the committee will be to collaborate with key stakeholders on implementing the National Health Care Reform bill to be responsive to racial and ethnic health equity.
