The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) honored Robin McHaelen, Executive Director of True Colors, Inc., with the Upstander Award for promoting safety, inclusion and well-being for LGBTQ youth. She received the award along with Magic and Cookie Johnson and filmmaker, Lance Bass whose documentary short raised awareness concerning LBGT youth.
Robin McHaelen founded True Colors in 1992. A non-profit organization dedicated to creating a world where families of all sexual orientations and gender identities are valued and affirmed. “I feel both humbled and delighted to receive this award,” says Robin. “It is a blessing to be able to come in everyday and do work that I love. To be recognized for that work is a wonderful bonus.”
