Antonia Cordero, DSW


Antonia Cordero, DSW, is a UConn School of Social Work retired Associate Professor and faculty of the Puerto Rican and Latin@ Studies Project. She taught courses in the Individuals, Groups, and Families concentration and Puerto Rican/Latino/a Studies. Her areas of specialization include individual, group and family therapy, mental health and community services to the Latino/a populations, and field work education. Dr. Cordero was the Principle Investigator of the Connecticut Partnership for Child Welfare Excellence, a collaborative partnership training grant between UConn and the CT Department of Family and Children. The grant, awarded by National Child Welfare Workforce Institute, prepared social work graduate students to work effectively with vulnerable children and families.  Antonia was also the recipient of the University of Connecticut Outreach Recognition Award for Faculty in 2006.
