Catherine Medina, PhD
Catherine Medina, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor and faculty of the Puerto Rican and Latin@ Studies Project. Catherine teaches courses in casework practice, micro foundation theory and practice, social welfare policy, and health disparities among Latinos. Her areas of specialization include mental health services to Latin@ children and adolescents, social work practice with abused and neglected children, provision of culturally competent services, social work practice with Latin@ individuals and families, advising/mentoring, and recruitment and retention of Latino/as in social work programs.
